Members Judi and John Dauphin and son Mathew were caught installing one of several ties they purchased with their names engraved on them. Judi recently became a qualified Diesel Engineer, John is a regular Conductor and back-up Steam Engineer and Mathew volunteers as a Museum Display Modeler working with the HO and G-Scale train layouts.

Buy a Tie

Riverside & Great Northern Railway is undertaking a $50,000 capital campaign to upgrade our roadbed. Key to this project is the Buy a Tie program, where our goal is to replace 6,000 older wooden railroad ties with new wooden ties as needed.

For a $100 tax deductible donation, your name will be engraved in a tie used in the roadbed rehabilitation.

The Riverside & Great Northern Preservation Society is a non-profit, education organization which depends on people like you for it's success.

We currently have about 250 members. Many volunteer time and talent to the many projects needed to keep the R&GN operating, and others choose to just pay their memberships, and bring their children and families to enjoy the railroad on occasion. The choice is up to you!

We offer memberships at several levels:

• Booster Club - Individual - $25.00 Annually - Pass for unlimited train rides, subscription to the R&GN Newsletter - Trackside, 10% Off Gift Shop purchases. Bumper sticker and patch will be sent with initial membership.
• Full Member - Individual - $50.00 Annually - Pass for unlimited train rides, subscription to the R&GN Newsletter - Trackside, 10% off Gift Shop purchases, and voting privileges. Bumper sticker and patch will be sent with initial membership.
• New Sponsor - Individual - $1,000 paid in $100 Annual Installments - Pass for unlimited train rides, subscription to the R&GN Newsletter - Trackside, 20% off Gift Shop purchases, Family Pass and voting privileges. Bumper sticker and patch will be sent with initial membership. At the completion of the $1,000 pledge a New Sponsor Member will become a Life Member.
• Life - Individual - $1,000.00 in One Payment - Pass for unlimited train rides, subscription to the R&GN Newsletter - Trackside, 20% off Gift Shop purchases, Family Pass, and voting privileges. Bumper sticker and patch will be sent with membership.

Family Pass - $50 Annually - Booster Club and Full Members can purchase a Family Pass for unlimited train rides for immediate family members.

We are currently looking for volunteers for the 2008 season.

If you like to:

• plant flowers
• clean stuff
• fix stuff
• wood work stuff
• metal work stuff

... or simply enjoy working as a team with folks who range in age from 10 to 83 we have a place for you.

Trained or untrained, we can help you learn some things or maybe you can help us learn some things. Either way, it will be fun, educational and you'll have an opportunity to make new friends.

All training is provided and we have VERY flexible schedules.

We have free campsites with water and electric hookup, that can accommodate almost any size camper or tent.
